Roundhouse Works
In May 2023, the Roundhouse launched Roundhouse Works, a new creative centre for 15,000 young people, the majority from disadvantaged backgrounds. The new building provides space and state-of-the-art facilities, including a bespoke large music studio, to assist young people in turning their creativity into a career. Roundhouse Works will be the “largest creative centre for young people in Europe” said Marcus Davey, the chief executive and artistic director of the Roundhouse.
JewelBoxGroup is delighted to see the music recording studio we established in 2007, alongside other major recording studios, has been expanded substantially in size and the programme in scope.

Joint Musical Collaboration between the Roundhouse and the ICA
Commencing in November 2005, this collaboration has had the following goals
-
Marry the skills sets of two of the biggest brands in music in the UK.
-
Assist young musicians (ages 12-25) especially within the Roundhouse Studios through mentoring via more mature and experienced musicians.
-
Establish a truly commercial venture, for music written specifically for this programme, which can provide revenues to both the ICA and the Roundhouse to fund future education.
The long term goals of this joint venture are to assist in developing young performers as well as educating other youth especially within the Roundhouse studios.
The first two concerts in this series were scheduled for 4th November 2007 at the Roundhouse followed by the 15th November at the ICA.
Roundhouse Studio
In conjunction with the re-opening of the Roundhouse, Mr. Tillman established a full recording studio within the Roundhouse, after previously supporting a practice room.
This studio provides space for aspiring young musicians to practice their work and includes access to various recording, editing, and mixing facilities within the Roundhouse Studios.
In addition, the Roundhouse management has taken the view that musicians using the studio will have full access to all media capabilities, including radio and television, currently existing throughout the Roundhouse Studios.
Hugo Dalton Murals
In 2007, the studio’s redesign represents a collaboration
between the Roundhouse and Hugo Dalton, a UK based
muralist. Mr. Dalton’s design was produced in
conjunction with the young musicians using the space.
