Project Extra Time

In keeping with HTSE's focus on education and Social Impact, we created a bespoke pilot programme designed to increase the level of contact between separated and/or divorced fathers and their sons in a specific city in the North of England.

Our proposed programme involved spending one day together with the Foundation of a Premiership Football Club, including attending a match, a day together with a local major music/arts organisation and a day in a children's reading center during which the father and so would co-author a short document about their experiences together in this programme. For those fathers and son who completed all 3 components, they would be honoured on the pitch at the Premiership Ground, ideally  on the last game of the season.

Of the three proposed components,  HTSE was only able to successfully launch the football component, and only with the Foundation of the club.

A small number of fathers and sons were able to complete the initial component with very positive results; however, it is unlikely that other components will continue with this vision.

We would be delighted if other organisations and/or other countries in which football, music and dance, with links to reading and writing as well as increased contacts between separated/divorced fathers and sons  could implement our vision.
